As a Trial Attorney Michael has tried hundreds of cases, and he focuses his practice primarily on criminal defense trials in Pennsylvania. As a former Philadelphia Assistant Defender Michael fought for clients who faced the most dire circumstances. Michael worked his way up the ladder from preliminary hearings, to handling major felony jury trials, and he learned what it takes to battle it out in the courtroom everyday.

"If I am defending your case, the Commonwealth knows they are in for a fight"

Philadelphia Criminal Defense Lawyer in Philadelphia

Every client has a Constitutional Right to go to trial. The only person who can  give up that right is my client. I prepare for trial, period. I don't prepare for a "deal" because a trial is what the Constitution guarantees. If my client decides, after exploring all of their options fully, to pursue a non-trial resolution - I know that my trial preparation will get the best results.

The National Trial Lawyers

Michael graduated cum laude from Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where he sharpened his trial skills as a member of Drexel's award winning mock trial team. Michael won the Texas Young Lawyer's Association Regional Competition two years in a row, receiving plaques for Best Advocate each time. Upon graduating Michael was recognized for his pro bono service and received the James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy. In the summer after law school Michael competed in the prestigious, invitation-only "Top Gun" trial competition hosted by Baylor University's Law School. Of the sixteen top advocates selected from the nation's law schools Michael finished in the top four.  Since graduating Michael continues to teach trial advocacy to current law students, as a coach of the mock trial team at Drexel.

Michael's philosophy is "preparation wins cases." From arrest to trial he is dedicated to aggressively preparing for trial starting with investigation, legal research, and a proactive approach to defending your case. When the Commonwealth brings charges against one of its citizens, it is serious business; it is imperative that you get someone on your side who is not afraid to stand up to the prosecution and protect your rights.
